Grinding sequence. We start with a coarser metal-bond diamond to open the surface and remove old coatings or laitance, then move through a sequence of resin-bond diamonds, typically working from around 100 grit up through 800, 1500, or higher depending on the finish level and how much traffic the floor will see.
Densifying. Partway through the grind sequence, we apply a penetrating densifier that reacts with the free lime in the concrete and hardens the top few millimeters of the slab. This is what gives polished concrete its abrasion resistance. It’s not just a look, it’s a harder floor than what you started with, which matters a lot more under a forklift than under a sedan.
Final polish and guard.
